Wedding: The wedding of our minister's son Philip to Miss Kirsty McCandless in the Free Presbyterian Church on Friday, 19th September. Rev Whiteside of Banbridge Free Presbyterian Church conducted the service with our minister in attendance. Reception was held in the Banville Hotel. Soloist was Mrs Lorna Hanna and organist was Mr William Chambers.

Harvest: The parishioners welcomed the Rev D G Banham to preach our Morning Service. His sermon was based on a passage from Deuteronomy "Man shall not live by bread alone". The choir sang the Introit "Come Sing A Song Of Harvest". Anthem "All Things Bright And Beautiful" which was a special arrangement arranged by our organist Mrs Madge McNellis. Offering Hymn was "Message Of The Flowers" and the Vesper "My Saviour Leads Me". Hymns were "Come Ye Thankful People Come", "For The Beauty Of The Earth", "Yes God Is Good In Earth And Sky" and "Now The Year Is Crowned With Blessing".

Evening Service: The Service was conducted by the Rev S. J. Peden who often preaches when our minister is on other duties. His sermon was on "Sowing the seed". The choir sang the following pieces: Introit "Come Sing A Song Of Harvest". Anthem "All Things Bright And Beautiful". Offering "The Earth Is Yours" and the Vesper was "Send Thy Blessing". Hymns sang were "Lord Of The Harvest, Once Again", "The Fields Are All White", "O Lord Of Heaven And Earth And Sky" and "We Plough The Fields And Scatter".

Vacation: As our minister is on a fortnight's break the service on 5th October was taken by our friend Betty Thompson, and on 12th and 19th October Rev Charles McCurdy took the services.

Baptism: On Sunday, 14th September, three children were baptised. They were from the same family, sons and daughter of Mr and Mrs Kenny Wharton. Rev Norman Hutton dedicated Alex John, Tyler Kenny and Summer Lisa Elaine Wharton.

Service: Members of Newry District Royal Black Chapter No 4 held their Annual Service in our church. Rev S J Peden conducted the service. Organist was Mr Roland Anketell.

Holidays: We again have to thank Mr Anketell for playing during the holidays of our organist in August and over the last two Sundays, 7th and 14th September. During the Offering Voluntary music was played.
