Sunday School

We have Sunday School for children and teenagers throughout the year apart from the summer months (July and August) and a week or two just after Christmas. Sunday School commences at 11:15 a.m. and is held in the Warnock Hall which adjoins the church. The attendees then come into the church at 11:30 a.m. for the first part of the usual Sunday morning service. About 25 minutes into the service they return to the Warnock Hall. Sunday School concludes at the same time as the service ends. On Remembrance Sunday, however, the service starts 15 minutes later at 11:45 a.m.

The Sunday School Superintendent is Mrs Karen Gordon and she is ably assisted by three other Sunday School teachers - Lorraine Berry, Gail Hanna and Lynette McWilliams - with Alan Berry, Anthony Gordon and Sandra Gordon available as Support Assistants when required.

The Sunday School take part in the Village of Hope Sponsor Appeal, which is being run by the registered charity Romanian Connection and United Christian Broadcasters (UCB), who appealed for sponsorship for the orphaned and abandoned children in the new home built in the village of Dorobanti, Romania.

For as little as £10.00 per month all the basic needs a child requires i.e. food, clothes, medical care, educational materials, birthday and Christmas presents and outings and excursions will be supplied, things which our children take for granted. Therefore supporting this appeal encourages our children to appreciate how lucky they are and how their help makes such a difference to these children's lives.

Consequently the Sunday School request all children bring 20p (much less than a packet of sweets) per week to Sunday School to support this sponsorship.

The major Sunday School events each year include the Christmas Carol Service in December and the Family Service / Children's Day Service in June. Click on the links below to view reports on some events over the years.

The first commandment is this: "Hear, O Israel: the Lord our God is one Lord, and you must love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength." The second is this: "You must love your neighbour as yourself." No other commandment is greater than these.

Mark 12:29-31

Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.
